A second typical day... Just so I don't forget.

Monday, July 13th

6:30: Alarm goes off. Chris gets up and leaves for physical therapy for his arm. I get up and get dressed and ready for the day.

7:00: I go downstairs and make the kids and I breakfast (Jude -avocado and toast, berries, orange juice and chocolate milk, Margot - english muffin, yogurt and granola, strawberries and chocolate milk, Me- english muffin, coffee and fruit), pack the kids lunches (almond butter and jelly sandwiches, grapes and berries, “organic” dinosaurs cheese puffs Jude talked me into at the store for Jude and cheese bunny crackers for Margot.) Get the kids dressed (Margot insisted on wearing her size 12 month Hawaiian print dress so we compromised on wearing leggings underneath), teeth brushed, kitchen cleaned up and everyone and everything we need for the day out the door.

8:30: Get to school, shoes on, kids out and checked into their classrooms. Kisses goodbye and today is Margot’ s first day without a few tears at drop off.

9:00: Meet Chris at the office. Work.

12:30: Pick up the kids from school. Both Jude and Margot had good days and barely want to leave. Wrestle Margot to get in her carseat as she is adamant that she wants to drive the car home.

12:45 - 2:00: After school snack, quick lunch for me, Margot begs for jelly beans, play and watching the “sneak peak” aka previews to other movies on the Planes Fire and Rescue DVD because, that what was requested, books before nap time (Jude wanted to look at the jungle animals in his Animal Encyclopedia because it is jungle week at school, meanwhile Margot looked at a super hero book.)

2:00 - 4:00: Nap time for Margot and “quiet” time for Jude. Jude comes out of his room only three times, two times to go to bathroom. I make banana bread, granola for the neighbors (who I owe granola to since Jude and Margot ate a bag of theirs) do laundry, emails, bills…

4:00 - 5:00: Jude watches Curious George, Margot eats banana bread at the counter and steals the neighbors granola. I make dinner.

5:00 - 6:00: Chris comes home. We take the kids outside to play while dinner cooks.

6:00 - 7:00: Dinner. Quesadillas with guacamole, salsa and sour cream, brown rice, black beans. Margot first eats her sour cream by the spoonful. Both children appear to have ants in their pants at dinner, as usual.

7:00 - 7:30: Chris cleans up dinner. I watch Margot eat banana bread and supervise her coloring (or else she tends to color on the walls). Jude watches Curious George and has a piece of See’s chocolate for dessert.

7:30 - 8:00: I shower and get ready for bed, then the kids shower and get
ready for bed.

8:00 - 8:15: Brush teeth, read books (to Jude while Margot climbs and jumps around), Chris puts Jude to bed, I put Margot to bed, the dryer runs for white noise and surprisingly both Jude and Margot are asleep before 9!

9:00 - 10:00: Sit in bed and watch videos of Jude and Margot dancing.

The End.
