Christmas 2014

Thursday, January 1, 2015

We had a very nice Christmas over here at the Straley household. There were lots of matching pajamas, nutcracker obsession and a little bit of baking. I tried to keep everything fairly simple... Short and sweet was the idea this year. Jude asked for "big Cabbie," from Santa - a large airplane from Planes Fire and Rescue. Christmas morning brought Jude his request amongst much else - a toy guitar, a doctor kit, a large stuffed dinosaur, a new pair of navy Hunter boots and a red puffy Patagonia jacket along with many of toys, books and clothes from family and friends. Margot didn't make any verbal requests for Christmas so Santa brought her an animal rescue wooden toy truck and a matching dinosaur like her bother's. She received a new pair of coral moccasins as well as many other toys and clothes. These already fortunate children received more than they need, but are surely enjoying all their new things. Christmas morning we had our families over for cinnamon rolls, frittata, potatoes, coffee and orange juice. We open gifts, cleaned up, rested and took naps and then went to Nana and Papa's house for a few more presents and dinner. It was a nice day and successful Christmas season. This year, the tree and decorations made it past Christmas night, though surely Jude was wanting it to stay Christmas longer than it actually did. There are few lingering dish towels and candy canes to put away, but otherwise it's good-bye to Christmas. Until next year....
