We had a very nice Easter this year.  Everyone was relatively healthy and I am learning to scale things back a bit, which made the day relaxing. In the weeks leading up to Easter we had been reading Pete The Cat, Big Easter Adventure, to help Jude understand the idea of decorating and finding Easter eggs. I had been telling Jude that on Easter he would hunt for eggs filled with chocolate. So when Nana came over on Good Friday to help dye eggs, Jude was thoroughly surprised and disappointed, to say the least, when he bit into a hard boiled egg. Certainly it was not his fault for all the confusion. Easter morning Jude hunted for a few eggs - this time filled with chocolate, and jelly beans - we had a last minute phone call to the Easter bunny/ late night run to the store for jelly beans because we had to have jelly beans like Pete the Cat. (Slowly but surely I am figuring this mom thing out.) Nana and Papa joined us for a breakfast with raspberry scones, scrambled eggs with goat cheese and chives, toast, oven potatoes, strawberries and orange juice and coffee. We took early naps and spent the rest of the day relaxing at Nana and Papa's house. Jude and Daddy went swimming and Nana and Papa made a delicious and clean dinner with grilled fish, herbed rice, roasted asparagus and salad. We spared ourselves tummy aches this year and decided to forgo making dessert. Easter was a good one.
